Reading, Pa. (July 7, 2025) — The second stop on PGA REACH Philadelphia’s HOPE Tour took them to the beautiful Berkshire Country Club. Despite the course being notorious for its unique and tricky greens, the veterans performed well.
In the Trevino Division first place went to David Rugg who shot an impressive 6-over-par round of 77. Michael Jaye was only one stroke back to claim second.
In the Hogan Division, after a scorecard tiebreak, Thomas Koslowski defeated Bill Lippincott with both players carding an 84 for their rounds.
The winner of the Nelson flight, who shot an 8-over-par score of 79, was Robert Miller. Kenney Souders and Michael Stack were only one stroke back.
George Vasiloff took first in the Jones Division with a score of 84. Second place went to Rich Messina with and 86.
The Hurley Flight was the largest division of the day. Daniel Corney blew away his competition, shooting an 84, securing first place by seven strokes. Second place went to James Nelson, with Donald Brown and Ron West close behind to round out the top four.
The Snead Division played a Net event at 90% of their handicap. The winner was Walter Melnyk who finished with a four-under-par, 68. Sean Sanders took second place, shooting a two-under-par, 69.

The PGA HOPE Philadelphia Tour was created this season to give PGA HOPE graduates (U.S. military veterans) an opportunity to stay connected, build community beyond their service, and enjoy the game of golf in a friendly, competitive environment. The season will feature events across the Philadelphia PGA Section, giving PGA HOPE graduates the chance to experience some of the region’s top courses. Players are grouped into seven divisions based on their USGA handicap, ensuring fair and balanced competition. This format provides a welcoming entry point for those who may be new to tournament golf, while still offering a competitive experience for all skill levels.
