Lafayette Hill, Pa. (July 22, 2025) — The third stop on PGA REACH Philadelphia’s HOPE Tour took place at the prestigious Union League Liberty Hill, where veterans faced off across six flights with competitive spirit. The event featured strong performances and close finishes, as participants continue to build camaraderie and showcase their skills.

In the Trevino Flight, David Rugg secured his second consecutive victory, firing a round of 82 (+10). Michael Jaye finished close behind with an 85.

The Hogan Flight saw Jack Allegrini edge out the competition by a single stroke, winning with an 84. After a scorecard tiebreaker, Michael Malpedo claimed second place over Thomas Heemer, with both players carding 85.

In the Nelson Flight, Robert Miller matched the low score of the day with an 82, securing first place. Kenney Souders followed closely with an 83, and David Goldstein rounded out the top three with an 84.

The Jones Flight featured a breakout performance by Rich Messina, who earned his first win of the season with a 90. Cal Bostick and Kenneth Merritt Jr. were not far behind, both shooting 97.

In the Hurley Division, John Strollo captured the win with a 91. James Nelson claimed second with a 93, while Sean Sanders and Dominic DeGeorge finished third and fourth, respectively.

The Snead Flight, which was played as a Net event at 90% of handicap, saw Cynthia Clark dominate the field, finishing at 6-under-par. George Bannon earned second place with a score of 1-under.

The PGA HOPE Philadelphia Tour was created this season to give PGA HOPE graduates (U.S. military veterans) an opportunity to stay connected, build community beyond their service, and enjoy the game of golf in a friendly, competitive environment. The season will feature events across the Philadelphia PGA Section, giving PGA HOPE graduates the chance to experience some of the region’s top courses. Players are grouped into seven divisions based on their USGA handicap, ensuring fair and balanced competition. This format provides a welcoming entry point for those who may be new to tournament golf, while still offering a competitive experience for all skill levels.
