Doylestown, Pa. (August 13, 2024) – Doylestown Country Club hosted the National Car Rental Philadelphia PGA Jr. League 13u Section Championship where Delaware Beach came out victorious over the Delaware Blue-All Stars. Led by PGA of America Golf Professional and Coach Corey Phillips of Baywood Greens in Long Neck, Del., the Delaware Beach All Stars won the final match with a score of 9 points to 3 points.
The morning began with four teams battling it out for two spots in the afternoon’s final match. Teams consisted of eight of the best players from each of the area’s leagues. The format for each match was a scramble format of partners.
For the first matches of the day, Delaware Blue All-Stars, led by Coach Matt Finger, PGA, faced off against Penn State All Stars, led by Coach Garret Cwalina, PGA. It was a close result with Delaware Blue narrowly defeating Penn State with 7 points to 5 points and move on to the afternoon. The Radnor All Stars, led by Coach David Zimmaro, PGA, played against the Delaware Beach All Stars. The Delaware Beach All Stars came out victorious, scoring 8 points to top Radnor’s 4 points and advance to the finals.
The Delaware Beach All-Stars will be advancing to the Regional Championship at Maple Dale Country Club on September 6-8.
